Final Presentation
For my pitch I was given a lot of positive feedback: My name 'Bonanza' really stood out and the client really liked the reasoning behind the name. Bonanza is snappy, and links to my idea of changing genre each issue, rather than picking an interesting name at random, the client was happy to see I had thought about my discussion. At first there was some issues with my idea of breaking down lyrics being a niche, but very interesting idea, however my client was relieved to see my content slide, discussing the other articles my magazine would have, containing top 10 songs lists, and general interviews. My unique selling points really stood out to the client, liking the overall concept as well as my QR code scanners with Spotify links.
The client also gave me some feedback and advice on the colour scheme and front covers appearance. He warned me to look into bolder colours and not to get too lost into the illustrative side of the cover and the main focus needs to be the artist. He said playing around with photography and illustration will help the cover stand out and look less 'flat' so I understand that I need to look at my colours again. There was also the issue with the magazine being too gender specific, though the audience will vary for the issues and genre, I need to focus on how I'm presenting the magazine, especially if know my client is male, I need to sell the idea to him first. The client had a question about using high quality paper and whether or not my price would be suitable for it. My competition Q use the same type of paper and have a similar price to my magazine, therefore I know making a profit while having a professional finish is possible.
The last main issue was the digital format. I've chosen to use an app over a website for several reasons- one, using a mobile app makes scanning QR codes a lot easier and two, my target audiences have a large teenage demographic within them, and they often use their phones and apps more over websites and computers. The client suggested a website that is compatible with phones and computers as apps can be expensive to run and a website is easier to manage. Therefore I will consider changing my app idea to a website that is compatible with phones and possibly in the future look into creating an app.
